Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I get pricing information for bridal makeup services?

Please inquire with my booking agency, Cleveland Beauty Collective.

Can you give me a quote for non-bridal makeup services?

Yes! Custom quotes and packages are available. Shoot me an email, and let’s get you that quote!

Do you offer makeup services for special events & photoshoots, or just weddings?

Absolutely! I am more than happy to be a part of any special event you have coming up. Submit an inquiry, and I will let you know my availability.

Do you offer facials, or other types of beauty services?

Yes, I do! I offer facial treatments, waxing, lash lifts, and brow lamination.

What type of makeup do you use?

I carry a variety of pro and high end products, from Charlotte Tilbury to Cinema Secrets. If you have inquiries about any specific products, please let me know.

How do I know you’re a qualified makeup artist?

I am professionally trained (not self taught), a licensed esthetician, and a highly experienced makeup artist of over ten

years. If you have questions about my experience or credentials, feel free to ask.

Are you able to do a variety of skin tones?

100% YES! Again, I am a professionally trained makeup artist, have worked with all different complexions my entire career, and my freelance kit contains shades for every skin tone. I want you to know that as a professional, I take this part of the business very seriously. I don’t believe you can call yourself a pro if your kit doesn’t cater to everyone. I will never ask you to bring your own foundation (unless you have a specific allergy or formula preference). You can rest assured that I’ve got you and your attendants all covered!

What are the advantages of airbrush over traditional makeup applications?
I love and use both types of makeup. They both have their place in the world of bridal makeup. Airbrush makeup certainly does last a long time, and is water resistant (if not totally waterproof), and if you have the right skin for it, I’ll be able to achieve a flawless look. I do not typically recommend airbrush for textured or mature skin. There have been great advances in the world of traditional makeup, though. So if you are hesitant, or don’t think it will look great on your skin type, I’ve got your back either way.

Are you able to cover blemishes/skin issues?

If by cover, you mean neutralize the appearance of, then yes. However, blemishes are often raised skin, and raised skin texture will still be noticeable even with full coverage. I can neutralize the redness and discoloration, but I can’t really “flatten” or change the texture of your skin. It’s makeup, not magic.

Are you able to cover tattoos?

I can! If you have a tattoo that needs to be covered, please email a couple of photos of the tattoo you would like to cover and I can quote accordingly. Depending on the size and location of the tattoo, I may need to add extra time. Because of the skill level and detail involved in this service, tattoo coverage starts at $100 and up.

What if I just want you to service my bridesmaids?

That can be arranged! Please contact my booking agency for more information.

Do you travel to do makeup out of state?

Not at this time, but this may change in the future.

Do you charge a travel fee?

Please contact my booking agency for more info.

Who qualifies as an attendant when it comes to your rates?

Anyone other than the bride! Moms, friends, aunties, guests- anyone interested in makeup services.

Are trials included in the makeup price for the bride?

Please contact my booking agency for more info.

How Long Do Makeup Trials Take?

Makeup trials are typically 75-90 minutes long, because we are customizing your entire look, getting to know each other, and fine tuning.

What should I bring to my trial?

I suggest you bring a picture of your dress, your hairstyle, makeup styles that inspire you, and any "vision board" you might have for your wedding aesthetic.

What do I do if I need to change any details (location, time, number of people) for my wedding?

Please contact my booking agency right away.

How long does it take per person for makeup on the wedding day?

40-45 minutes per service. More complex looks could take 45+ minutes. The bride usually takes 45 minutes to an hour. With sanitation protocols, add another 2-3 minutes for infection control per person. For example, a party of 6 would need 5 hours.

Is there anything I need the day of the wedding?

On the wedding day, I will bring everything I need to perform your service at your desired location. The only thing I need is access to an electrical outlet, and a table or desk to work off of.

Should I make a schedule for my group for the day of the wedding?

That is preferable to keep things moving. We need to make sure there is always someone in my chair in order for me to complete the service in a timely manner. I am more than happy to work with you to create the beauty schedule for the day.

Am I responsible for parking fees?

Yes, due to the amount of equipment I have to bring to perform your service, the client is responsible for any valet or parking fees.

What if I am dissatisfied with my makeup?

Oh no! I hate to hear that. Honesty is the best policy. If at any time you’re unhappy with your trial, speak up! It won’t hurt my feelings. After all, I worked in retail for many years. We will work together to find a look you love. This is your wedding day, and I want you to look perfect!

How much is my wedding makeup retainer?

Please contact my booking agency for more info.

Is my retainer refundable?

No. Your retainer is non-refundable in the event you decide to cancel. That's why it's a retainer and not a deposit! It is for me to hold the date open for your services.

What if I pay for an attendant, and they back out of services for my wedding day?

Unfortunately, once the contract has been signed, the number of people receiving makeup services cannot be decreased. If someone backs out of services, ask a friend or other family member to take their spot.

What if I don’t want lashes, is the price different?

If you prefer not to wear lashes, the price is the same.

Do I have to pay you in one sum or can my maids and moms pay individually?

Please contact my booking agency for all booking and payment info.

Can you do eyes only for my bridesmaids?

I can do only eye makeup, but I don't offer partial face rates. The

attendant rate would still apply to anyone getting makeup services.

Is your kit sanitary? I’m freaked out about germs.

Cleanliness and sanitation is my top priority, especially nowadays. I use freshly cleaned brushes and new disposables on each member of the bridal party, never double dipping in product. I wash my hands frequently, use sanitizer between clients, and keep my metal tools clean with alcohol spray. Your safety is my priority. Even before Covid-19.

How can I review your business?
If you’ve used and been pleased with my services, it would be a huge help for me as a small business owner. You can find my Google Business page here, and on The Knot and Wedding Wire as well.

If for some reason you were not happy with my service, please reach out. I want to be sure I offered you the highest level of service. If I have fallen short, I need to hear about it.
